7 Cheap Makeup Brush Brands to Build Your Kit! (2025)

If you're starting to put together your makeup kit, you probably felt the need to invest in brushes. The problem is that, when searching online, the prices can be exorbitant – I've seen a single brush costing more than R$200! But don't worry, there are several cheap brands of makeup brushes!

I don't mean to say that the high prices are unjustified, after all many of them are made with expensive materials and can last for years if well cared for. Still, why spend R$100 when you're starting to apply makeup, if there is a brush that costs less than R$10 that fulfills the same function?

In this list I have gathered some cheap brands of imported makeup brushes, imported ones that sell in Brazil and even Brazilian brands – yes, it is possible to find good products at a great price made right here! For those that are sold abroad, I put links to the Amazon, where it is easy to find most brands and have them sent to your hotel during a trip to the United States or even to the hotel of your friend who will do you the favor of bringing it to you!

1. elf

One of my favorite brands, as I mentioned in the post 7 cheap makeup brands to buy in the USA.The price is usually unbeatable, between US$1 and US$6.

I confess that I have never tried the regular line brushes (white handle and brown bristles), but I have several from the linestudio(black cable) which are great! Most are a few years old and even after several washes they remain firm and strong. My favorites areSelfie Ready Foundation Brush, which leaves the base perfect without that “plaster” look; and the Small Tapered Brush, which I use both to powder under my eyes and as a highlighter.

For those just starting out, it might be a good idea to invest in kit with 11 brushes, both for the eyes and the face, and costs around US$30.

Recently the brand also launched a luxury collection, the Beautifully Precise Brush Collection, with white bristles and a transparent handle. They are a little more expensive, but they seem to be of great quality!

All brushes from the newer lines arecruelty-free and vegans.

2. wet n wild

The two lines of wet n wild brushes are sensations on Instagram, both the regular ones with white handles and pink bristles and the ones with rose gold handles. I don't even need to explain why, right? In addition to great quality, the brushes are also beautiful!

I have some of the normal ones like smoke (I bought two at once for the price, I found them for $1 at a Dollar Tree), and a few other shades, but my favorite is the Flat Top Brush to apply base.

The PRO line is a recent launch, and I still haven't gotten it because they were always sold out in pharmacies and on the website. Anyway, I've only seen positive reviews on social media and I imagine it's worth the investment. Both the set of 10 pieces and individual brushes are sold. You can find most of them on Amazon!

Both collections are made with synthetic fibers, no animal hair.

3. Real Techniques

Created by the duo of makeup artists andyPixiwoo, Real Techniques offers quality brushes at affordable prices.

With several popular lines, customers can choose from the company's colorful cables and synthetic fibers.Original Collection, the professional brushes with gold handles from the collectionBold Metals, and even oval brushes with black handles from the lineBlend + Blur.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of eye brushes, I think elf and Coastal Scents have better and cheaper options, but the face brushes are incredible. I really like the brush stippling quality blush, and I'm keeping an eye onbest sellersExpert Face Brush. I was also interested in Core Collection, which brings together four brushes for a very attractive price!

Another super famous product from the brand is Miracle Complexion Sponge, compared to the Beauty Blender sponge. The value is much lower than “cousin"famous, and I even commented on the similarity between the products in the postmakeup dupes to buy in the United States.

Who is not for thestates in the coming months or you don't have friends who can bring the brushes, you can find some of them in Brazil on sites like Americanas or Submarino (for a slightly higher price, you know,rs).

4. Coastal Scents

Coastal Scents was one of the first cheap makeup brush brands I came across. It was there that I bought my first kit, in 2009! I still have most of it today, and even after countless washes, the brushes are still impeccable!

My suggestion is to invest in sets, great for those who are starting out and don't yet have the basics in their collection. The of 22 pieces come with face, eye and lip brushes, while the Pearl Brush Set focuses on denser products that leave a natural finish.

Another favorite of mine from the brand isPro Blending Fluff Brush, dupe of MAC 217. To be honest they areSo identical that I can only identify which is which when I read the number on the cable. The big difference is that the one from Coastal Scents costs around US$4, and the one from the famous brand costs US$25 (as I paid that, sirrrrr).

For those who are starting to venture into the world of makeup, a great value for money is theBeauty Collection, which in addition to 22 brushes also includes a palette of 88 eyeshadows and another of 10 blush shades.

The brand does not test its products on animals, but sells both synthetic brushes and brushes made with natural bristles.

5. EcoTools

With an ecological proposal, EcoTools' mission is to be a brand that uses sustainable materials at low prices. Its products are made from recycled plastic and aluminum, and the handles are made from bamboo. None of them are tested on animals and, made with synthetic fibers, the brushes are still vegan and certified by PETA.

With severalkits, the brand focuses on combinations to make everyday life easier for customers. As Start the Day Beautifully you have enough tools to create a natural skin and highlight your eyes. Already theStay Matte & Beautifulfocuses on correction and contouring, with brushes to sculpt the face, contour the lips and correct imperfections.

Other successes areRetractable Kabukiand Precision Blush, which is used both to highlight the cheekbones and to apply powder or create a more defined contour.

The brand is sold in Brazil, but it is difficult to find new releases here.

6. BH Cosmetics

BH Cosmetics is the ideal brand for those who want to buy quality brush kits, without breaking their budget.

From more sober options to the more colorful ones that are popular on Instagram, you can find sets for those who are just starting out or for those who want to improve their collection.

If you fall into the first category, I suggest the 15 Rose Gold pieces – with options for the face and eyes, or invest in eye kit – this one usually costs less than US$10 for 7 brushes. For more advanced tools, such as contouring or highlighting, the Sculpt and Blend Kitand its 10 brushesduo fiber It's the perfect choice!

For travel, sets likePink Perfection They are a great choice, as they come with a cylindrical case that is perfect for putting in your suitcase without taking up too much space.

From what I've seen, most kits are made with synthetic fibers and have the vegan product seal.

7. Macrilan

The only national brand on the list, Macrilan is enchanting with the quality of its products and competitive prices.

The brand currently has two product lines: Max – professional with denser synthetic fiber brushes, perfect for those looking for a natural finish, or Line B, which has all types of tools, including the oval brushes they made so much success on social media.

For me, the big advantage of Macrilan is the ease of finding it in Brazilian cosmetics stores. I've seen the brand's products several times here in Florianópolis and, due to the low cost, I even took the risk of buying some. The B Line eyeliner cost me just over R$5, and is my favorite for filling in the eyebrows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills gel.

The brand's best sellers are from the Max line, and I'm going to look for the one now.large conical brush and byrounded for details, which seems to be great for applying concealer to dark circles!

And here are my 7 favorite cheap makeup brush brands! Now you can assemble your kit without going bankrupt 🙂

Do you think there was any other brand missing? Do you like a specific brush from one of them that I didn't talk about? Tell me in the comments!
